Smeg Instruments contributes to the new Pediatric Hospital of Padua

Smeg Instruments has contributed to the development of the new Pediatric Hospital of Padua through the supply of 14 bedpan washers and 4 washer-disinfectors, helping to ensure high standards of hygiene and safety within one of the most advanced pediatric facilities in northeastern Italy.
The new Pediatric Hospital “Salus Pueri”, inaugurated in 2026, represents a regional and national reference center for pediatric care. The facility, developed over eight floors with 155 beds, has been designed to deliver modern healthcare services by centralizing intensive and surgical activities while placing strong emphasis on the comfort and support of families and caregivers.
In this highly technological context, Smeg Instruments solutions support healthcare staff in daily washing and thermal disinfection processes, essential for infection prevention and the safe management of hospital materials.
The installed bedpan washers feature high load capacity and are made of 316L stainless steel with high corrosion resistance, ensuring durability and hygiene. They are equipped with automatic sensor and pedal opening and an integrated drying system, allowing fast, safe, and contactless operations. An additional probe enables precise temperature control during thermal disinfection; the integrated automatic slop sink is automatically flushed by the device. Programs include A0 6000 thermal disinfection and an ECO function for energy savings, ensuring high performance and sustainability.
The collaboration with the new Pediatric Hospital of Padua confirms Smeg Instruments’ commitment to the healthcare sector, through the development of technologies designed to meet the needs of hospitals and healthcare facilities increasingly focused on operational efficiency, clinical safety, and quality of care.
